Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava at University College Mangaluru
Mangalore: India has taken a bold step towards becoming a superpower in the world and it is time for the country's citizens to contribute towards the development of the country in their way, said NCC (5 KAR Naval Unit) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Commander Bharath Kumar.
Speaking after flag hoist, on the occasion of 75th Independence Day celebrations at University College Mangaluru, he said India needs youth with discipline, responsibility, honesty, and ethical standards to meet the needs of the future in a competitive era, said. With a special mention to the freedom fighters from the coastal districts- Karnad Sadashiva Rao and Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, he didn’t forget to salute the Covid warriors and teachers of the country.
In her presidential address, Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai said that we must commemorate those who have sacrificed for the country. A parade by the NCC students drew attention. Dr. Kumaraswamy M mastered the ceremony. NCC Officers Dr. Lt Yathish Kumar (Navy), Major Dr. Jayaraj N (Army), NSS Officers Dr. Suresh and Dr. Gayathri N, Department of Physical Education Head Dr. Keshavamurthy were present among others. Saplings were planted on the premises on the occasion.
