Mangalore: ‘Dharma’ and ‘Religion’ are not one and the same. Dharma is nothing but way of life. We, Tuluvas follow Dharma, share the culture and live for the society, said Puttur Shri Vivekananda Vidhyardhaka Sangha President Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.


Speaking at ‘Tudar Parba’ (Festival of lights) and farewell function for the second year Tulu PG students, jointly organised by the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Tulu Peetha and University Evening College here at the Dr. Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana of University College Mangaluru on Saturday, he commended that we Tuluvas  trying to find our source by studying it in depth. Culture, rituals are timeless. Their protection must begin with every home, added.  


In his presidential address, Mangalore University Registrar Dr Kishore Kumar C K said, "We need to know the value of our culture, and share it with the youth and make it last for generations.


University Evening College Principal Dr. Subhashini Shreevathsa and businessman Sunil Achar were also present. Departing Tulu lecturer Shyamprasad Alasandemajalu, and first rank holder in the first batch of Tulu MA were felicitated. Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat lit the lamps and performed the ‘Bharatha Matha Poojana’.


Second-year postgraduate students shared their experience. Cultural events followed the stage program. Coordinator of Tulu Postgraduate Studies Dr. Madhava M. K greeted the guests. Vijayalakshmi Kateel mastered the event. Coordinators Prashanthi Shetty, Dr. Vinodha were present among others.
