Mangalore: The 12th National Voters’ Day was celebrated at the University College Mangaluru on Tuesday in order to raise awareness of voting among students in accordance with the wish of the Indian Election Commission.
Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai started the celebration, which had ‘Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative’ as its theme. Political Science department Head Dr. Latha A Pandit administered the oath. Students, teachers and non-teaching faculty of the college pledged of free and peaceful voting as part of upholding the democratic dignity of the country, and voting without being influenced of caste, creed, community or language.
