Mangalore: Yoga can be promoted further internationally by proving its medical benefits by conducting research and publishing its results in international journals, said KSHEMA Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Craniofacial Surgery Director Dr. Vikram Shetty.
Speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of "International Yoga Day - 2022", held on Tuesday by the PG Studies in Yogic Science of University College Mangaluru, he urged for the collective effort to make Yoga even more attractive, so that even doctors should prescribe it to their patients.
Presiding over the function, Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai said, “We have understood the benefits of Yoga and Saathvika food,” and congratulated all those who had made Yoga Day a success by participating in large numbers. Yogic Science Department Students Nayana and Prathyaksh Kumar demonstrated various Asanas under the guidance of Dr. Ajitesh.
Physical Director of the college is Dr. Keshava Murthy welcomed the guests. Senior Yoga student Ramachandra Bhatt performed the prayer. Doctor, Yoga student Vidya Bharathi mastered the ceremony. NCC officers Dr. Yathish Kumar, Dr. Jayaraj N, NSS Program Officer Dr. Suresh, and Umanath K and Rangappa of Yogic Science were present. Hundreds of people, including teachers, students and medical practitioners practiced yoga under the guidance of yoga teachers.
