Mangaluru: In aid of specially-abled children and Maasashan to the needy senior artistes with tagline Music for Peace, Arunya Foundation in association with Das Kudla Events presents Coastal Karnataka Mega Musical Reality Show, Singers Premier League (SPL 23): Karavali Koyal Champions 2023, a Premier League for singing first-time ever in the world which will be held on May 31 and June 1 at Kudmul Rangarao Townhall here in the city.
On the first day of May 31, the first round of musical event will be held and on second day June 1 Semi Final will be held in the beginning at 8.30 am. On June 1 afternoon at 12.30 pm, the final round and in the evening award and prize distribution ceremony, musical concert ‘Panchabhasha Rasamanjari’ will be held along with multilanguage musical evening.
SPL 23 planning began last November, and 453 singers across the state participated in audition and through mega auditions, 72 participants were shortlisted. They will contest under 9 teams for the champion trophy in these 2 days.
Uday Guruji will light the lamp on May 31 to begin the event. Senior Social Worker Suresh Ballal, Consultant Ayurveda Physician, Sri Vedamaayu Ayurvedic Hospital Dr. Keshavraj, Transplant Co-ordinator (SOTTO) Wenlock Hospital Mangaluru Padma Venoor, Managing Director Verito Media Private Limited Srinivasa Pejathaya, Janardhan Babu of Doddamane Appu Yuva Sena Mangaluru, Cine Playback Singer and Programme Chief Coordinator Rameshchandra will be present.
Award and prize distribution will be held on June 1 evening. Mrs. Jayashri Amarnath Shetty will light the lamp. The evening will have the auspicious presence of Honourable Assembly Speaker U. T. Khader, Mayor Jayanand Anchan, local MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath , Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Kaup MLA Suresh Shetty Gurme, Producer Chinnegowda, Actor Sundar Raj, Playback Singer Vani Harikrishna, Sripathi Bhat of Dhanalakshmi Group, Padmaraj Ramaiah of Guru Beladingalu Foundation, Chairman MUDA Ravishankar Mijar, General Manager Cardolite Specialty Chemicals India LLP Divakar Bejai, National Secretary State Intuc Secretary Rakesh Malli, Sri Sai Mandir - Thotadamane, Udupi Divakar Shetty Kodavooru, Industrial Caterers, Udupi Prabhakar Poojary, Retired SP Jayanth Shetty, Senior Advocate Varadraj A., and Shivraj, President of Aleri Sri Sathya Saramani – Kaanada Kata.
On June 1 evening 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm grand musical evening will be presented in five languages with gracious presence of ‘Madhuvana Karedare’ fame Vani Harikrishna, Rameshchandra, Chief Programme Coordinator, team leads of SPL Pancham Halebandi, Prathima Bhat, Surekha Hegde, Radhika Kalluraya, Rashmi Chikmagaluru, Srikrupa, Shashikiran, Ravindra Prabhu and Mithun Vidyapura along with winning team members.
Also, on the occasion various awards will be distributed to the achievers. The Kalaveera Tilakaratna Gourava Award to be given to Alva's Education Foundation Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Sakala Kalasampanna Gourava Award to be conferred on Bheeshma of Print and Electronic Media Manohar Prasad, Life time Achievement in Music field award to be given to Tagore Das in male category and Sharada Barkur in female category. Gourava Kala Sadhaka award to special achievers in various fields, Vishesha Chetana Kala Sadhaka Award, Gourava Kreeda Sadhaka Award, Gourava Samajaseva Ratna Award, and Gourava Kalaposhaka Ratna Award will be conferred too.
This evening event will be streamed live on V4 Channel and associate Youtube partners. 2 days' competitions will be streamed later as episodes on same partner channels.
Remaining amount will be dispersed to specially-abled children and as monthly pension to the needy senior artistes.
Arunya Foundation is serving society in the last 5 years and active in agriculture, rural development, youth empowerment, art, culture, education and research. Das Kudla Events Mangaluru is one of the premier musical concert team which has nurtured various artists across the state. Credit goes to Das Kudla for organising Sursangam during Mangaluru Dasara for 6 years which coastal people recall even today.
