Mukka: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering proudly inaugurated its Department Association - Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) on 20/08/2024.The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries- Dr. Mohith P Tahiliani , Associate Professor, Dept of CSE, NITK, Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde,Dean SUIET, Prof. Shifana Begum, HOD, CSE, Varsha G Bangera, Association Coordinator, faculty members, office bearers and enthusiastic students.
The primary objective of the CSE Association is to foster a collaborative environment that encourages students to enhance their technical skills, engage in research, and contribute to various technical and non-technical activities.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Navneeth Krishna K, Final Year (CSE STUDENT), President, ACE and introduction of the guest was done by Mr. Akash Kulal,Third year CSE, Vice President, ACE
The Chief Guest, Dr. Mohith P Tahiliani in his address, spoke about the rapid advancements in technology and the vital role that Computer Science engineers play in shaping the future. He encouraged students to actively participate in the association's activities to gain hands-on experience and stay updated with the latest trends in the industry.
A keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, Dean, SUIET by sharing insights emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and adapting to new challenges in the tech industry.
An Association oath was taken by the office bearers headed by the Prof. Shifana Begum, HOD, CSE. The annual report of the association was delivered by Ms. Divya Naik(Final Year CSE STUDENT), Secretary, ACE.
The prize winners list of the academic excellence students was read out by the Prof. Varsha G Bangera, ACE Coordinator and distribution was done by the chiefguest.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Kiran Kumar Shetty(Third Year CSE Student) , Treasurer, ACE.
The Inauguartion of ACE was followed by Technical Talk on Data Science by Sthuthi Bhat, Software Engineeer, Udupi Web Solutions, Udupi.
The objective of the talk was to provide students with valuable insights into Data Science, including its applications, challenges, and future prospects. This session aimed to deepen students' understanding of this cutting-edge field and better prepare them to meet industry demands.
The event was well-attended by faculty members and students from the department.
