Udupi: MCC Bank, Mangalore inaugurated its 15th ATM at the Udupi Branch on Sunday November 23, 2025 at Shivadama Commercial, Ajjarkadu Park Road, Udupi.The ATM was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Anil Dsouza, Parish Priest of St Xavier Church Udyavara.
The ATM was blessed by Rev. Fr Charles Menezes, Parish Priest, Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi. The first cash withdrawal from the newly inaugurated ATM was made by Mr Shivaprasad Shivarama Shetty, Tullur
The function was presided over by Sahakara RatnaMr Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank. Mr John Carlo, Logistics Officer was the chief guest.
In his presidential address, Chairman Sahakara Ratna Mr Anil Lobo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the customers of the Udupi Branch for their continuous support, which has played a vital role in the branch’s progress and in enabling the ATM facility. He stated that this growth has been achieved only through the collective strength, unity, and trust of customers and the bank.He emphasized that where there is love, dedication, and sincerity, success naturally follows. The Chairman shared that the bank has a clear vision for the future and highlighted that banking involves managing public money with responsibility and prudence. He stressed that lending must be done carefully, and regular recovery of loans is essential to ensure sustainability.
He reiterated that the primary responsibility of both the Board and the staff is to provide excellent customer service, treat every customer with respect and friendliness, and recognize the value of each person, even the last one in society. He reassured the gathering that all services available in nationalized banks are also provided by MCC Bank, and deposits are secured under the RBI’s Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC).He further stated that working together is the mission of MCC Bank, and called upon all customers to continue supporting the bank and walk together on the path of growth.
The Chairman also highlighted MCC Bank’s proud initiative of honoring achievers in various sectors such as education, sports, and arts, an initiative that continued during the Udupi Branch ATM inauguration. He announced that the Bank has now expanded its operational area to cover the entire state and has earned its place among the top 2nd urban cooperative banks in Karnataka. Additionally, he shared that MCC Bank is now offering NRE banking facilities, making it one of only two urban cooperative banks in Karnataka to provide such services.
Delivering the first keynote address, Rev. Fr Charles Menezes stated that prayer alone is not sufficient for growth; along with prayer, hard work and dedication are essential for progress. He concluded his remarks by extending his best wishes for MCC Bank's continued success and progress.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr Anil D’Souza emphasized that where there is love and sincerity in the workplace, development naturally follows-something clearly demonstrated by MCC Bank. He acknowledged the Bank’s role in safeguarding the public’s money and appreciated its commitment to giving top priority to senior citizens by offering attractive interest rates. He remarked that God’s grace truly guides the bank’s achievements and progress.
Rev. Fr Anil D’Souza recalled the inspirational leadership of Chairman Mr Anil Lobo, describing his journey from youth to his present role. He stressed that “MCC Bank is our bank,” and urged everyone to continue supporting it. He noted that MCC Bank not only provides banking services but also recognizes and encourages individuals who contribute to society through excellence. He further appreciated the Bank for creating employment opportunities for the youth, enabling them to support their families. He concluded his address by invoking God’s blessings for the future growth and success of the Bank.
In his message, Mr Shivprasad Shivaram Shetty expressed immense satisfaction and happiness as a branch customer. He shared his pride in being the first person to withdraw money from the newly inaugurated ATM at Udupi Branch. He stated that when a business receives support from a bank, it gains strength to grow and succeed. He acknowledged MCC Bank’s continuous support in shaping his career and expressed gratitude for its role in his journey.
On this occasion, Ms Riha Melani Dsouza, who secured 99.20% in SSLC; Mr Srihari S. G., who achieved an AllIndia NEET UG 2025 Rank of 3104 and secured the 277th rank in Karnataka; and Mrs Shainey Alva, recipient of the KRCBC Yuva Rathna Award, were honoured for their accomplishments. Mrs Ancilla Fernandes, Branch Manager of the Shirva Branch, presented the report of achievements.
As part of the celebrations, customer Mr William Lobo, who celebrated his 75th birthday, was also felicitated with a cake ceremony.
Director Mr Elroy Crasto welcomed the dignitaries. Mr Alwyn Danthy compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
Director Mr Felix Dcruz, General Manager Mr Sunil Menezes,Branch Manager Mr PradeepDsouza, Deputy General Manager Mr Raj Menezes, Branch Managers, staff members, and customers in large number were present. The programme commenced with a prayer led by the staff members.
