Surathkal, November 7, 2025 – National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal participated in the nationwide commemoration of the 150th anniversary of India’s national song, Vande Mataram, as part of the unified initiative “Naad Ekam, Roopam Anekam” led by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The programme began at 10:30 AM in the Institute’s E-Library with the live broadcast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address from Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. This was followed by a mass singing of Vande Mataram by institute functionaries, faculty, staff, and students, in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture.
Deputy Director Prof. Subash C. Yaragal, Registrar (I/C) Prof. Kumar G. N., Prof. Govinda Raj Mandela., Dean (Students’ Welfare), Prof. Laxminidhi. T., Dean (Faculty & Staff Welfare), faculty, staff, and students attended the event, joining voices in the nationwide tribute to Vande Mataram.
This observance marks the beginning of a year-long cultural campaign led by the Ministry of Culture to honour the legacy of Vande Mataram, composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The campaign will span four phases from November 2025 to November 2026, featuring exhibitions, musical tributes, and public engagement activities across the country.
