Bengaluru: ‘The goal of an architect is to eliminate resource waste and unnecessary spending while continuing to ensure the other five pillars of the well architected network – availability, performance, resilience, scalability and security’, opined Dr. Rupinder Singh, a distinguished architect and urban planner, while addressing the Fifth Graduation Day ceremony at Nitte School of Architecture, Planning and Design, Yelahanka, Bengaluru.
Fifty students were graduated in Architecture and eleven students received degrees in Planning. Among them Shivapooja secured First rank and Poshitha stood second in Architecture. Ruchitha Singh secured first rank in Planning.
Further he added, ‘Architecture is an academic field that blends the art and science of designing. Discipline is very much essential for an Architect as they have to acquire characteristics of positive nature such as self control and persistence’.
Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Vice President, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru campus, presided over the function. In his speech he said that critical thinking, empathy and lifelong learning are essential to face the challenges of rapidly evolving world.
In the beginning, Prof. Ar. Nanditha Nagaraj, Principal of Nitte School of Architecture, Planning and Design, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Hariharan Chandrashekhar, Chairperson of Alttech Foundation; Ar. Aparna Narasimhan, Director of Venkatraman and Associates; Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology; Kavitha Kamath, Deputy Registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru campus; Heads of Architecture and Planning, faculty members and others were present on the occasion.
