AJMAN, UAE: Gulf Medical University (GMU) has officially announced that admissions are closing soon for the 2026 intake of its prestigious Thumbay International Pathway Program. Designed to provide students with a seamless academic journey, the program offers pre-clinical education in the UAE followed by clinical medical education at renowned partner universities across the globe.
To ease financial commitments for students and parents, annual tuition fees start at approximately ₹16 lakh, backed by flexible installment payment options.
Under this pathway, students complete their first three years at GMU, Ajman, earning a CAA-accredited Higher Diploma in Pre-Clinical Sciences (HDPCS). Upon completion, they can progress directly to selected international partner universities for their three-year clinical training without taking additional entrance examinations. Destination countries include Romania, Poland, Malta, Italy, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Ghana, and Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, eligible graduates are offered priority consideration for the newly launched Thumbay–UMFST International Residency Pathway in Romania. This pathway encompasses 49 medical specialties, comprising 28 clinical, 13 surgical, and 8 paraclinical disciplines.
Since its launch in 2017 with just 27 students, the program has witnessed significant growth, currently catering to 335 students from over 45 nationalities. Demonstrating nearly a decade of success, the Poland pathway alone has already produced 90 medical graduates, with its tenth cohort currently progressing through the curriculum.
Students benefit from state-of-the-art simulation facilities, early clinical exposure, an integrated academic health system, and a vibrant multicultural learning environment.
