Mangalore: The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Mangalore University Economics Teachers’ Association was held at the Ravindra Kalabhavan of the University College Mangaluru, recently. Renowned Economist and Columnist Prof. G V Joshi released the annual magazine of the association-‘Amarthya’ on the occasion.
“Financial involvement should be the focus of planning. Otherwise, the disabled and oppressed would remain outside the mainstream,” he added. Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai was the chief guest. Former chairman of the Mangalore University Economics PG Studies and Research Department Prof. Shripathi Kalluraya spoke about the challenges for the study of economics under NEP and how economics can be market friendly.
The Association President Dr. Ramakrishna presided over the function. Secretary Pro. Sudhakar Perampalli read out the annual report. Treasurer Dr. Prashant Bhat read the account status, while Joint Secretary Prof. Daya Suvarna mastered the event. University College PG Department of Economics Coordinator Dr. Jayavanth Nayak managed the election process of new office bearers. Dheeraj Acharya, Prof. Denzel Pinto were present.
