Udupi: The department of Physics at Poornaprajna College Udupi, organized a one-day Physics Demonstration program called ‘For the Love of Physics’ on 31st December 2021. 320 students of various Science streams from Poornaprajna Pre-University College, Udupi along with staff members, attended the program, with the department grouping them into three batches.
The batches were sent in rotation to Dr. Ramu L, who explained the various opportunities for students if they choose to take up Physics for higher studies. Mr. Atul Bhat, explained various concepts in physics with practical demonstrations, explaining how physics can be fun. The Remaining members of the department, Mrs. Divya Vasanth Kumar, Ms. Chaithra and Dr. Lakshmeesh Rao explained various practical experiments set up in the Physics lab which the students were introduced to. Students of Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers’ Club showed Sunspots using the various telescopes available on campus.
Mrs. Prathibha C. Acharya, Head of the Department, headed the entire program and managed the students to ensure every students learned physics that day. H.H. Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji, President, Udupi Shri Admar Mutt Education Council graced the program with his presence and enlightened the students about the efforts of the departments towards teaching physics.
