Mangalore: "Like the waves of the sea, information and opinions flow to us. The only real challenge is choosing, comprehending, and adhering to them. Dr. Lakshminarayana Bhatta H. R, former principal of University College Mangaluru, remarked, "We should not stumble when it comes to understanding freedom and democracy."
He added, after hoisting the tricolour at the University College Mangaluru's 73rd Republic Day celebrations on Wednesday, saying it is only when we understand such things that we can truly enjoy freedom and find fulfilment. Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai, who presided over the event, stressed the importance of remembering and paying tribute to those who have contributed to our freedom and democracy.
Political Science Department Head Dr. Latha A. Pandit welcomed the guests. History Professor Dr. Kumaraswamy M mastered the ceremony. University Evening College Principal Dr. Subhashini Shrivathsa, former principal Dr. Udayakumar MA Irvattur, Student Union Deputy Director Harish M, NCC Naval Officer Dr. Yathish Kumar, Army Officer Dr. Jayaraj N, Sports Department Head Dr. Keshava Murthy, NSS Officers Dr. Suresh and Dr. Gayatri N were present.
Covid Vaccination Campaign:
As a part of free vaccination drive organised by the Youth Red Cross of the college, the first dose of the Covid vaccine was given freely to the students between 15 and 18 year age group. Principal, Youth Red Cross Programme Officer Dr. Kumaraswamy M. and volunteers were present. About 95 students were benefitted by the camp.
