Bengaluru: ‘A successful doctor knows the importance of Morality in the field of medicine. He always ensures patient’s well-being, rights and dignity. Famous orthopedic surgeon Dr. Shantharam Shetty is one such, who contributed a lot in enhancing the confidence among patients. He is not just humane and always helpful but also wrote good number of books in both Kannada and English to spread his knowledge among common people. His recent book – ‘Cancer - God’s Gift to Me, How I made it - A true story’ is truly remarkable. In his book, Dr. Shetty narrated how he underwent the turmoil, and positivity in life would help’, opined Justice N. Santhosh Hegde, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India and Former Lokayukta of Karnataka.
He spoke these words while dedicating the book written by Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty, well-known orthopedic surgeon and Pro-Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University, on cancer, at a programme arranged at the BLVD Club Hall, Embassy Boulevard, Bengaluru.
On this occasion the other new books titled ‘Yelubu Rogigalu and Yoga’, ‘Vaidya Vruttiya Neeti mattu Tatva’, ‘Molahalli-My Golden Village - My Ancestral Home -Patel’s Doddamane’ were also released by Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal, Chairperson, Manipal Hospitals, Bengaluru and Dr. A.C. Sreeram, Chairman, Mallige Hospital, Bengaluru.
A good number of doctors, experts in the field of education and social service were present.
