Mangalore: Laptop computers were distributed to 12 of the 22 beneficiary postgraduate students at University College Mangaluru under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes special funds by the state government, for the academic year 2019-20.
Mangalore University Special Officer of the SC/ST Cell Dr. Puttanna K distributed the laptop to the students during an event conducted at the Dr. Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana of the college. He stated that the 10 beneficiaries who were unable to attend will be given laptops at the university. The university has opted to purchase 378 high-end laptops, 200 laptops have already been purchased, and 178 computers are yet to be purchased.
Principal of the college Dr. Anasuya Rai was present on the occasion.
