Mangalore: Noted international counter-narcotics specialist, Dr. Shreekumar Menon, has been selected as Consultant by United Nations Office of Drugs & Crimes (UNODC), for a specialized narcotics assignment, covering six countries of South East Asia- India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Dr. Menon is a former IRS officer and retired as the Director General of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN). He holds a Ph.D. in Narcotics & Psychotropic Substances from Mangalore University.
He is also a Fellow of the James Martin Center for Non-Proliferation Studies, Monterey, USA, as also Fellow of CITS, University of Georgia, USA. He has also served as Trustee of New Mangalore Port Trust.
