Mangaluru: A decoration beckoning guests. Ancient copper, brass vessels, art objects were all around. There were so many posters on Mangalore's fish dishes, Konkani community dishes, coastal snacks items...and many more. Along with this meaningful quotes throughout path of the venue attracted the attention. 


If you think this is an exhibition, you are wrong. This is the scene of the food festival organized at University College Mangalore on Tuesday by the Department of Tourism and BBA (Tourism and Travel) of the college under the name of ``Banjara-2022''! Yes, along with the variety of food, creativity of students stood out here.


In his inaugural speech, Bantwal Bunts Association President Chandrahasa D Shetty opined that we are the ones who can make more than two hundred types of dosa and more than twenty five types of Pundi from rice alone. All are healthy balanced foods. It is our duty to preserve and develop this knowledge that has come from the elders.  


The Chief Guest, Mangaluru University syndicate member Ramesh K opined that such programs will inspire those interested to join the newly started BBA program. Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai, in her presidential remarks, said that the variety of food also plays a role in coastal tourism. Coastal residents have adopted a healthy diet, she added.


There were coupons worth five to one hundred and fifty rupees to buy delicious dishes prepared by Tulunadu Caterers and Sachitha Family Kitchen. More than fifty types of snacks, different types of juices attracted. Tourism Department Head Dr. Meenakshi MM, Head of BBA Dr. A Siddiq, senior professors participated. Lecturer Sriraj welcomed the guests, while Parinitha Shetty extended vote of thanks. Final year BA Student Likhita G.N mastered the ceremony.
