Srinivas University: National conference on “Forensics’ of QD– Challenges and Counters


Mangalore: Department of Forensic Science, Instituteof Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University Mukka, Mangaluru in collaboration with PG Department of Criminology and Forensic Science, School of Social Work, RoshiniNilaya, Mangaluruhad organized one day National Level Conference themed ‘Forensic’s of QD- Challenges and Counter’ on 18th March, 2023 (Saturday) at Srinivas University campus, Mukka, Mangalore.More than 160 eminent Forensic Scientists and both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Forensic Science were part of this event.


Chief guest of the program by Mr. B.T. Obaleshappa, Superintendent District Prison, Mangaluruaddressed the gathering where hesaid forensic is not just for ourselfsits for whole society. He further shared his experience on dealing with criminals and significance of forensic science in modern world. He expressed his view on need of forensic science for the betterment and welfare of people and requested the students of forensic department and management of Srinivas university to conduct programs for the prisoners to transform them and help the prison department by conducting annual medical camps.


The guest of honor of the program Prof. VineethaRai, Registrar Evaluation, School of Social Work, RoshniNilaya, congratulated both the departments for organizing this national event and addressing the student delegates she said to acquire an in-dept knowledge on the subject via this conference.

Dean, SIMS&RC, Dr Udaya Kumar Rao.  Dean’s, Institute of Allied Health Sciences, DrBeena HB and Prof PavanaKrishnamoorthy. Head, PG Dept of CFS, SSW, Dr Saritha D’Souza. Prof and Head, Dept of Forensic Medicine, DrVrinda J Bhat. Course Coordinator, Dept of Forensic Science MrsSwathi D inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. 


Prof. VineethaRai and Dr Jayashree Bolar released the E-Souvenir of the program and exchanged the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two Institution. 


Dr Jayashree Bolar, Assistant Registrar, Srinivas University in her presidential address mentioned Srinivas University always encourages researches and she stressed on how students of forensic science should utilize opportunity and applied the subject for the welfare of people.

The deliberations of national conference was done by eminent speakers

Mr. Chirag Suvarna, Cyber security Analysist, Cyber Sapines, Mangaluru spoke on digital evidences pertaining to questioned documents.


Mr. Arun Kumar K, assistant Professor Garden city university be Bengaluru,independent consultant and court certified QD Expert, spoke on E-Sign : Analysis, authentication and admissibility in court.

Ms. FernandesGlorita S, teaching and research assistant, school of forensic sciences, national forensic science university Goa, spoke on application of chemical techniques in QD examination.


Adv.Udayananda A District Govt Pleader Special public prosecutor, Dept of Customs & Revenue intelligence, GST Govt of India, Mangaluru delivered session on legal perception of documents in questions

Dr. Saritha D’Souza, head PG Department of CFS, SSW spoke on future trends in document examination.


Paper presentation competition was held fordelegates on various fields of questioned documents. The best paper presentation award bagged by Amritha G Shetty, SSW RoshiniNilaya and runnersMr. Joel Joseph. Dr Vrinda J Bhat Welcomed one and all. Swathi D presented Vote of thanks.
