Ethically enriched AI sustains human significance: Dr Niranjana Vanalli

SDM Hosts International Multidisciplinary Symposium on AI


 

 Ujire: “Artificial Intelligence is an emerging field that elevates possibilities of multidisciplinary function of human society. It has to be associated with ethical values in order to sustain human significance”, said Bengaluru North University, Vice Chancellor Dr. Niranjana Vanalli.



Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a two day long International Multidisciplinary Symposium here at CNYS Hall on Monday he emphasized on the changing of human behavior after the emergence of artificial intelligence and said, ‘AI is one such area which is gaining ground in academia. There is also a huge requirement from the students as the future jobs are mainly dependent on the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science’.



Delivering the presidential address, SDM College Principal Dr. B. A Kumar Hegde said, “With the advancement of AI in future may further curb the creativity and diminish the thinking process of human beings to some extent. Presently, the repeated use of the ChatGPT has caused greater threat to the academic activity and the integrity”.



SDM PG Centre Dean Dr. Vishwanatha P said, “AI has made specialized contributions in the field of healthcare, human behavior, finance and many more. As it is an emerging and trending technology it will definitely draw a significant impact on the human behavior in the later days.”



Department of Psychology HoD and Convener Dr. Vandana Jain welcomed the gathering, Assistant Professor Ashwini Shetty and Sonika of II M.SC Psychology compered the event and Ashwini H proposed the vote of thanks.
