Bengaluru: ‘According to the latest poverty statistics, approximately 9.2% of the global population or about 700 million people live in extreme poverty. So, it is our duty to contribute our might for elevating living standards of these people. Every small unselfish action nudges the world into a better path. Decades back I was also one among them. But through hard work, perseverance and a faith in God, I could be able to climb the ladder. Please note that successful people are not gifted, they just work hard and succeed. Without hard work nothing grows but weeds’, opined Dr. William Ngange, Chairperson, Applied Economics and Agri-Business Management, North Dakota State University, USA, while delivering Convocation address of PGDM 14th batch (2022-2024) at Nitte School of Management, Bengaluru.
Further he added, ‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. Determination and Focus often increase after experiencing setbacks, when you are close to attaining ambitions’.
Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor (Admin), Nitte Deemed to be University was the Guest of Honor. In his speech he gave a call to the new batch of Post Graduates to become inspirational entrepreneurs also instead of securing a safe job in a company, to express creativity and to help the community. Entrepreneurship provides individuals with the opportunity to take control of their destinies, make their own decisions and shape their future.
58 students proudly received their Post Graduate Degree. The Institute honoured academic excellence by awarding Gold Medals to top performers. In the Girls category Ms. Pruthvi of Finance specialization was awarded the Nitte Meenakshi Gold Medal. Col. Y.K. Chandan of Indian Army and Mr. Thridarsh D.R, both with Finance specialization, were awarded the K.S. Hegde Gold Medal.
In the beginning Dr. M. Venugopal, Director, Nitte School of Mnagement welcome the gathering. Prof. G. Koteswara Rao, Controller of Examinations conducted the event. Rohit Punja, Administrator, Nitte Education Trust; Dr. H.C.
