3rd edition of 2-day IEEE International Conference 'NMITCON-2025' inaugurated at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru

Bengaluru: ‘Human common sense is always most important and no scientific advancements can be equal to that. It refers to the ability to understand situations and make sound judgements based on basic understanding rather than specialized knowledge or training. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) operate through statistical and mathematical process. Therefore, none can take away the importance of Human Common Sense and intelligence even in future. It is certain that Humans will never lose their jobs for the sake of AI. But one should learn to improve AI to find swift solutions without any lapse of time’,

opined Dr. Juan Manuel Corchado Rodríguez, Rector, University of Salamanca, Spain, while inaugurating the 3rd edition of two-day IEEE International Conferences on Network, Multimedia, and Information Technology (NMITCON-2025) held at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, the constituent college of Nitte Deemed to be University.

NMITCON-2025 designs to set out a premier scholastic platform for academia, industry professionals, researchers, and students to interchange innovative ideas, share research findings, and discuss emerging trends in the fields of networks, multimedia, and information technology. The conference has been designed to foster collaboration among experts from diverse disciplines, catalyzing the development of novel solutions to contemporary challenges being faced in the realms of networks, multimedia and information systems.

Further he added – ‘One has to take care on the decisions of AI powered automation. It should always adhere to public trust, regulatory compliance and accountability’.

The Guest of Honor was Dr. Supavadee Aramvith, Chair, IEEE Thailand Section, and Professor at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. In her speech she said, ‘AI is revolutionizing Video Analytics by enabling systems to automatically analyze video content, extract meaningful insights and trigger actions based on detected events or patterns. This goes beyond basic motion detection and even predictive capabilities. In the sectors of smart city projects, healthcare diagnosis and manufacturing, AI enabled videos play a major role for the well-being of people in all walks of life. Our future technocrats should focus more on this for the welfare of the society’.

NMITCON-2025 has been admired by the researchers throughout and is in receipt of well researched papers across the globe. Among them - USA, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, UK, SPAIN, South Africa, France, Nigeria and Ethiopia are included. In addition, the premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, ISRO and DRDO in India have also come forward to participate. In total, over 4,260 scholarly submissions have been received, which is truly remarkable. Consequently, the Conference Program Committee had a very exacting task of choosing high quality submissions in accordance to the global standards. After the hectic IEEE review process, finally the reviewers have put forward 289 scholarly submissions for the inclusion in the conference proceedings. In total there will be 28 parallel sessions. In each track the Commendation Certificate will be awarded for the Best Presentation. Domain Experts from reputed Universities and IT Industries have been invited for all the 28 sessions to assess each presentation and provide prolific suggestions to the participants.

In the beginning Dr. Parameshachari B.D, Conference Chair, NMITCON and Head, Department of Electronics and Communication, NMIT, briefed the objectives of the conference to the audience. Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT spoke on the occasion and stressed the need of encouraging students of research to find solutions for the technological challenges. Rohit Punja, Administrator, Nitte Education Trust presided over the event. Dr. Sowmya Madhavan welcomed the gathering and Dr. Sunil S Harakannanavar proposed vote of thanks.

Students, Research Scholars and faculty members from technological institutions and Universities in India and abroad have been invited to participate in this conference.
