‘Deep Tech Startup-2025’ Summit at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology



Yalahanka, Bengaluru: India needs Start-ups based on Deep Tech technologies built on scientific breakthroughs with the potential for profound and transformative impacts across Industries and Society. Unless and until Deep Tech Start-ups succeed, we will not move forward towards development of society and Nation at large. They differ from other start-ups by having a higher technological advancements and strong intellectual property, with a focus on solving major global challenges. These are essential to solve fundamental challenges in areas such as climate change and healthcare’, opined Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO, IHFC (I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics), Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, while inaugurating ‘Deep Tech Start-up Summit 2025’ organised by Co-innovation Centre and the department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence of NMIT. More than 100 Deep Tech start-up aspirants across India participated in the two-day summit. Nearing thousand research students also gathered in the summit to learn more about innovation, product production, marketing and incentives available from Government.


Dr. Prashanth N, Head of the Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at NMIT submitted a brief introduction about the summit.


Dr. T Asokan, Professor at IIT Madras was the Chief Guest. In his speech he said, ‘High end Research and Development activities, long gestation period, talent shortage and limited market are no more challenges in India. We are getting right talent to the right innovation, thanks to the participation of technological institutions and industry with all unity’. 


The main attraction of the summit was the launch of new innovative product ‘Newrro’, named as Arjuna, a robot which can do multiple tasks with ease.


In the beginning, Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT welcomed the gathering. Rohit Punja, Administrator, Nitte Education Trust; Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Vice President, Nitte Deemed to be University, Bengaluru campus; members of the faculty and students were present on the occasion.
