Mangaluru, September 29, 2025 : The Board of Governors of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal entrusted the duties and responsibilities of the Registrar’s office to Dr. Kumar G.N., Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who will be the Registrar in-charge till further orders.
This follows the suspension of Shri Ravindranath K., pending Departmental Inquiry for violating Central Civil Service (Conduct) Rules, 1964. The Board has also constituted a High-Power Committee comprising IIT/NIT Directors, to investigate the legality and propriety of the appointment of Shri Ravindranath K. as the Registrar in 2015, and his continuance in the post beyond 5 years, which is against NIT Act and Statutes.
