Bengaluru: ‘It is very sad that the agricultural lands are overloaded with chemical manure and insecticides for long time resulting in the degradation of the soil. Soil is not just dirt; it is dynamic, living ecosystem teeming with diverse organisms that are crucial for its functions. We can save our soil and its fertility by adopting organic methods in growing crops. In this background, the launch of ‘Gaubio’ liquid fermented organic manure, the product of Vasuki Agro Chemicals LLP, Shivamogga, supported and encouraged by Atal Innovation Centre-Nitte (AIC-NITTE) and Atal Community Incubation Centre-NMIT Foundation (ACIC-NMIT Foundation), is a huge relief for farmers in particular and nation at large’, opined Dr. S.V. Suresha, Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, while launching the liquid fermented organic manure ‘Gaubio’, made from cow dung and cow urine based slurry extract, at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru.
Further he added –
‘Healthy soils perform functions like regulating water, cycling nutrients and filtering pollutants. Nitte Atal Innovation Centre should take a step forward in developing such eco-friendly products. Being an engineering college, it should find a way for spraying the ‘Gaubio’ through drone technology’.
