Yalahanka, Bengaluru: ‘It is inevitable to all of us to use electric vehicles extensively to save our mother earth from vehicular pollution caused by petrol/diesel driven vehicles, particularly in urban areas. NMIT has established a special research unit to develop more powerful cost effective batteries to make EV more affordable to the buyers. This would help us to drive a transition to a more sustainable transport system’, opined Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT, while inaugurating the EV Rally held at Nitte University campus, Bengaluru, in collaboration with International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (iFEVA).
Srinivas Kumar Yerrapothu, Vice President, Global Operations, iFEVA; Dr. Rajeev Mishra, President, iFEVA; Dr. A.T. Kishore, Director, Dhanwantri Drone Pilot Academy; were present on the occasion.
Later an interaction program was also held with researchers, students and faculty members in association with EEE department of NMIT. Dr. Samanvitha, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and members of faculty were present during the detailed discussion on ongoing innovations in the EV sector.
