ICAMST 2025: 2 days Conference inaugurated at NMIT Bengaluru

Yalahnka, Bengaluru: ‘Government should make it mandatory for the manufacturers to use sustainable materials compulsorily, to control and restrict the long-time heating of earth’s climate system due to fossil fuel combustion and others leading to increased levels of greenhouse gas resulting in global warming. Sustainable materials are materials chosen, produced and utilized in a way that minimises their environmental impact throughout their entire lifecycle – from extraction and processing to use, disposal and potential reuse or recycling. Researchers should focus on renewability (sourced from naturally replenishing resources), recyclability, biodegradability, low toxicity, energy efficiency and durability’, opined Dr. Anindya Deb, Professor, Department of Design and Manufacturing, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, while inaugurating the two-day International Conference on Advanced Materials and Sustainable Technologies (ICAMST-2025) arranged by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University).

Further he added – ‘Advanced Materials and Sustainable Technologies are not merely important, they are indispensable for forging a resilient, prosperous and equitable future.
