Puttur: Bharathi S. Rai, Head of the Department of English and Public Relations Officer at St. Philomena Autonomous College, has been awarded a Doctorate by Srinivas University, Mangaluru. The degree was conferred for her research thesis titled “Reinventing Karna: An Exploration of Select Retellings of the Mahabharata.”
The research was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Manjula K. T., Research Professor at Srinivas University. During the course of her research, Dr. Bharathi S. Rai published twelve research articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals and presented research papers at three national-level conferences.
An alumna of English Literature with M.A. and M.Phil. degrees, and also a law graduate, Dr. Bharathi S. Rai is currently serving as the Head of the Department of English and Public Relations Officer at St. Philomena Autonomous College.
The management of the institution, led by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Mascarenhas, and the Principal, Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, congratulated her on this academic achievement.
