Mangaluru: Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), arrived in Mangaluru, marking the beginning of her Karnataka–Keralam yatra. Amma will preside over the Mangaluru Brahmasthanam Mahotsava, scheduled to be held on May 28 and 29 at Bolur, Mangaluru.
Amma is visiting Mangaluru after a gap of seven years. She was received at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mangaluru, by devotees and ashram representatives amid traditional chants and percussion. The reception was led by Swamini Mangalamrita Prana, head of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mangaluru.
Senior monastic disciples from Amritapuri Ashram, along with brahmacharis, brahmacharinis and ashram residents, accompanied Amma to Mangaluru. The Brahmasthanam Mahotsava will begin with the ceremonial flag hoisting. Amma is scheduled to arrive at the specially prepared venue at around 11 a.m. on May 28. The programme will include meditation, satsang, bhajans and darshan.
Arrangements have been made at the ashram and the Brahmasthanam premises for devotees and visitors attending the two-day festival, including facilities for food distribution.
