Dress code will not affect Muslim girls’ education: Prof. P S Yadapadithaya


Mangalore: The number of Muslim students choosing education is increasing, is a good sign. We will extend all the support to them so that they should not discontinue their education, assured Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya. 


Speaking at a press conference at Press Club on Saturday, he said the current development will be considered as a special case for the benefit of the students, some one-time measures will be taken. If students want to change college in the middle of the semester, Intake will be increased and fees are waived. In case of shortage of attendance we are helpless, he said.


The dress code will be compulsory in all constituent colleges, he reiterated. He added that three of the six constituent colleges of the Mangalore University have been accredited by the government, while University College of Mangalagangothri, University Evening College,  Hampanakatta and  University Constituent College, Nelyadi will be given credibility soon. Moodabidri Bannadka College is accredited and the government has allowed it to operate on its own.
