Mangalore: Mangalore University is organizing a one day conference on the theme, Strategies for Betterment of Higher Education and Governance of Universities in association with the Forum of Former Vice-Chancellors of Karnataka State Universities (FVCK), Bengaluru. This conference will deliberate on the challenges, opportunities and options available to the universities to raise the quality and reach of the education in the backdrop of the National Education Policy of India 2020 (NEP 2020) that seek to transform aspects related to the education system including its regulation and governance to realise the objective of creating an equitable and vibrant knowledge society with adequate stress on values and responsibilities among the beneficiaries.
The conference will be held on 30-05-2022 at Mangala Auditorium, Mangalagangothri and will commence at 10 am. The conference will be attended by the Former Vice Chancellors, faculties of the University, the Principals and IQAC coordinators of the colleges affiliated to Mangalore University and members of University bodies.
The conference will be inaugurated by Dr.VinodBhat, Executive Vice President and Former Vice Chancellor of MAHE. Prof. P. SubrahmanyaYadapadithaya, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University will preside over the program. Notable experts in the field, present and former Vice Chancellors will engage the technical session and will participate in the panel discussion. This includes Dr. T.V. Kattimani, Vice Chancellor of Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh and a member of the National Steering Committee formed by the Ministry of Education for National Curriculum Framework Development;Dr S.N. Hegde (Former Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore);and Dr K. Siddappa (Former Vice Chancellor, Bangalore University).
Dr. K.S. Rangappa, President, FVCK and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysore and KSOU; Dr. Suresh S. Honnappagol (Secretary, FVCK and Former Vice Chancellor, KVAFSC University, Bidar); Dr. K. NarayanaGowda (Former Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru); Dr. N.S. Ramegowda (Former Vice Chancellor, Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru); Dr S.R. Niranjana (Former Vice Chancellor, Gulbarga University),Dr. B.G. Sangameshwara (Former Vice Chancellor, JSS S&T University, Mysuru); Dr. H. Maheshappa (Former Vice Chancellor, Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgavi) and Dr. E.T. Puttaiah (Former Vice Chancellor, Gulbarga University), among others, will be present on the occasion and contribute to the proceedings.
