Mangalore: The Mulki- Moodbidri MLA Umanatha Kotyan inaugurated the annual NSS camp organised by the NSS Units of the Mangalore University and University College Mangaluru, Hampanakatte at Panjadaguttu Shantharama Shetty Government High School at Kamral, Pakshikere on Monday.
In his inaugural address, the MLA opined that the purpose of the camp is to promote service mentality. The prestigious Government College, now the University College has developed a sense of togetherness. In her presidential address, Principal Anasuya Rai wished that the NSS volunteers convey the message of coexistence. Let them make their own contribution to the school.
Kamral Gram Panchayat Chairperson Leela Krishnappa Poojary, District Panchayat President Vice President Kasthuri Panja, Mathura, the Senior teacher of Panjadaguttu Shantharama Shetty Government High School, School Development Committee President Devaraj were present. The camp started with the mission of “Youth for Science and Scientific Mentality” and will run until May 15.
Student Pragati mastered the ceremony. Kaushik and group prayed, while University College Mangaluru NSS Officer Dr. Suresh welcomed the gathering. Sociology lecturer Dr. Rajeshwari rendered vote of thanks. NSS officer Dr. Gayathri N, Akshay of the Department of Geography were also present.
