Bengaluru: The International Conference on “Linking Information and Sharing: Building Resilient Education and Library Systems (ICLIS-2024)” held at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Jayanagar.
(Dr.) T.D. Kemparaju, Former Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore North University inaugurated the conference and delivered an enlightening address on the role of libraries and information centres in linking, informing, and sharing beyond boundaries. He emphasised the importance of digital library concepts and digital media in India.
Dr. Dong Geun Oh, Professor at Keimyung University, South Korea, and President of I-LISS, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the essential characteristics of libraries, the need for cooperation and resource sharing, and the importance of linking and networking in the digital era.
Prof. (Dr.) Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), appreciated the significant contributions of librarians in knowledge sharing among students and faculty and in supporting research endeavours.
Mr. Ravindra Bhandary, Vice President, JGI Group and Dr. M. Krishnamurthy, President, KALA were the guests of honor. Dr. Kamani Perera, Manager, Research and Development, CIPM, Sri Lanka was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. Dr. Meeramani N, Librarian at JAIN (Deemed to be University) was the conference organizing convener.
