Such failures may come in every inventor’s life. But if it is considered as a lesson in the path of success, one can achieve the goal by benefiting the society and nation. Innovation is a lifelong journey. We should embrace it and enjoy it’, opined Neha Wani, Executive Director and Chief Engineer, Electrical & Electronics Customer Support Engineering, Boeing AI, while inaugurating the ‘IEEE YESIST12 National-level Open House Project Expo-2025’ under the title ‘Kaushalya’, jointly organized by the IEEE Student Branch and Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, in collaboration with IEEE Bangalore Section and IEEE CEDA Bangalore Chapter.
NMIT is among the 32 institutions worldwide selected to host the prelims of YESIST12–2025, international project innovation challenge for students and young professionals. In total, 330 innovative projects were showcased for Open House demonstration. Two best projects among each category would receive cash prize. The Chief Guest of the event was Sunil Kumar G, Head of Commercialization & Industrialization, Nokia. In his speech, he said – ‘Sustainability is no longer a buzzword. It is critical driving force for innovation across all sectors. It is very crucial to develop technologies and processes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy sources and adapt to the impact of climate change’.
The Guest of Honor was Dr. Anish Cheriyan, Vice President Test, HARMAN International and Chair, IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS), Bangalore Chapter. In his speech he requested the young professionals to also study the technological marvels of ancient India to enhance their knowledge and skill.
In the beginning, Dr. Parameshachari B.D., Head, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering briefed the purpose of the expo.
