Mangaluru: A vibrant showcase of India’s rich heritage and craftsmanship, the "Hastakalaa" exhibition, is set to return to the city from July 18 to July 27, 2025, at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre on MG Road. Organized by Manya Art & Kraft in collaboration with Smart Art Events, this will be the second edition of the event of this year.
The upcoming edition of Hastakalaa promises to be a one-stop destination for connoisseurs of handcrafted textiles, home décor, and jewellery. With over 50+ stalls featuring artisans from across the country, Hastakalaa continues Manya’s 25-year legacy of promoting India’s cultural heritage. Renowned for their commitment to preserving rare art forms, they have envisioned this unique exhibition to bring the richness of rural India to urban audiences.
Visitors can expect an exquisite array of traditional textiles, including kantha, kasuti, ikat, phulkari, uppada, patola, chikankari, and hand-woven, alongside exotic sarees from Kolkata. The event will also feature antique furniture, Batik and block-print apparel, and sea shell artefacts among other products. A collection of handcrafted jewellery, including Orissa tribal ornaments, will also be on display.
"In today’s fast-paced world and age of gadgetry, connoisseurs of handloom and art are increasingly feeling the need to promote heritage textiles and bygone weaving techniques. Besides, our aim is to also acknowledge the effort and innate talent of the artisans who weave and craft these magical wonders," said Jayanth Nazre of Manya Art & craft.
