Bengaluru, July 24: The inaugural edition of Astronomy Expo 1.0 – Principal Conclave 2025–26 by InnoNxt Aerione Bharat was held on Thursday at INOX, Mantri Mall. The event opened new possibilities for scientists, educators, and students to explore developments in space science and astronomy.
The expo featured participation from several eminent space experts, including Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director of the Promotion Directorate at IN-SPACe; T.K. Sundaramurthy, former ISRO Mission Director; M.S. Srinivasan, former Director of URSC; and Dr. Margarita Safonova, astrophysicist and member of the International Astronomical Union. Raghavenddhiraa, child rights activist and member of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the DoPT, participated as the chief guest. Handwriting expert Prof. K.C. Janardhan was also present.
The event included the official unveiling of the InnoNxt Aerione Bharat Astronomy Expo logo and brochure. A special exhibition showcasing key aspects of space exploration and rocket technology was also organized.
Speaking as the chief guest, Raghavenddhiraa highlighted how advancements in technology and innovation have made it easier to study space science effectively. He emphasized that such expos help raise awareness among children about space and its vastness. He also expressed hope that India, currently ranked fourth in the world in space technology, would soon rise to the number one position.
A live virtual interaction with ISRO scientist Ilangovan gave students the rare opportunity to directly engage with a space expert. Additionally, a 3D Dolby Atmos film on astrophysics, ISRO's history, and the future of space habitats was screened. The presentation explored cosmic phenomena, Earth's formation, and the evolution of human life — all in immersive 3D, sparking curiosity and wonder among the students.
The expo also marked the official launch of the Aryabhata Educational Rocket Lab, described as India’s first educational rocket technology lab guided by ISRO experts. Alongside, a student space learning app was unveiled, aimed at offering smart and experiential STEM learning for students at different academic levels.
Representatives from InnoNxt Aerione Bharat, including CEO Rashmi Sumanth and regional coordinator Sandeep, spoke about ongoing grassroots efforts to promote space education. Distinguished speakers also shared their insights on the growing relevance of astronomy in today’s education system.
Over 150 school students, teachers, and principals actively participated in the event, making it a unique and memorable learning experience. Oasis International school collaborated with the event.
