Bengaluru, Aug 29: The XVII Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge (CCH-16), Bengaluru, has granted ad-interim relief in O.S. No.5185/2025 (CNR No. KABC010185982025), in line with directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP (C) No.21969/2025.
The court has strongly reprimanded the so-called Burude Gang for making baseless allegations and defamatory statements against Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, and his family. The court has issued an injunction against the baseless videos and posts published on YouTube and other social media platforms, directing that they be deleted immediately.
Based on the complaint filed by Chinnayya, Dharmasthala Police had registered Crime No. 39/2025. In connection with this case, since Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, Girish Mattannavar, Jayanth T, and others were unnecessarily defaming Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, and his family, D. Harshendra Kumar filed a civil suit in the Hon’ble City Civil Court, Bengaluru. Hon’ble Court had issued an injunction and ordered the deletion of the defamatory videos. Challenging this, Third Eye YouTube Channel directly filed a Special Leave Petition in the Hon’ble Supreme Court, where the Court orally advised them to approach the High Court.
Later, Ajay Anchan of Kudla Rampage YouTube Channel filed a writ petition in the High Court. A single-judge bench of the High Court set aside the City Civil Court’s order and directed a fresh inquiry before issuing further orders. Questioning this, Harshendra Kumar approached the Hon’ble Supreme Court, which did not entertain the High Court’s order but, after considering the videos, documents, and case records submitted, directed the trial court to take an independent decision.
Subsequently, after five days of hearings, during which the City Civil Court examined the videos, WhatsApp messages, Instagram posts, Facebook reels, and other social media content, and after hearing arguments from both sides, the court once again issued an injunction against Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, Girish Mattannavar, Jayanth T, and others. Moreover, it ordered the immediate deletion of the defamatory and insulting videos.
This ruling has sent a strong message not only to the accused but also to others that without valid reasons or proper evidence, no one can make defamatory remarks against Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, D. Harshendra Kumar, or their family. The court’s decision stands as a stern warning to such actions.
High Court Advocate S Rajashekar Hiliyaru argued on behalf D Harshendra Kumar.
