Udupi: The Udupi circle of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya marked Krishna Janmashtami on Sunday with a vibrant children’s cultural programe titled “Muddhu Krishna, Muddhu Radhe.” The event featured classical dance, devotional music, dramatic presentations, and traditional competitions, drawing an enthusiastic response from participants and the public.
Udupi City Council President Prabhakar Poojari presided over the programme. Guests of honor included Dr. Annapurna Rao, principal of Silas P.U. College; Vijay S. Putran, NSG commando; and Kothanda Raman, retired Indian Army man. All addressed the gathering and participated in the felicitation ceremony.
Highlights of the event included a captivating Bharatanatyam artiest Ms. Aditi Keshav Mehendale, who was honoured for her artistic excellence. Another key moment was the felicitation of Master Deepesh Deepak Shenoy, a Class 10 student of T.A. Pai English Medium High School, Kunjibettu unit of AGE Manipal, who was recognized for his academic achievements at the national level and for securing a nomination to the prestigious Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP). The award, conferred by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, acknowledges exceptional accomplishments, specifically under the category of exemplary courage and bravery.
The programe began with a prayer by Brahma Kumari Devaki and a welcome address by Brahma Kumar Raghuram, followed by ceremonial lamp lighting. Solo and group dance performances were presented by Ashwi Shetty, Aisiri, Vagni, B.K. Sarita, B.K. Malini, Vamshi V. Kotiayan, Shamita J.U. Ganig, Kaira P. Salian and others. Musical contributions came from Raksha, B.K. Lakshmi, and B.K. Devaki, with flute accompaniment by Pradyumna Bhagavath.
Children participated in the “Muddhu Krishna, Muddhu Radhe” contest, with participants including Tanushree, Nikshit, Nirish, Rakshit, Advit Banger, Arvika G. and Acharya. The programme concluded with guest addresses, felicitations, a vote of thanks, a traditional community meal and the traditional Om Shanti chant.
