Yalahanka, Bengaluru: ‘Artificial Intelligence is not just another technological advancement; it is a fundamental force reshaping every aspect of human existence. It works as catalyst reducing the hard work of a researcher, common man or an academician to move ahead in their respective domains. It will enhance our creative thinking to solve global challenges. The institutions of technology should prepare our students to use this tool to take a step forward not only in shaping their own Country but also the whole World with ethical values. I am delighted to share with all of you that Prime Minister would soon grant Rupees One Lakh Crores exclusively for Research and Development activities in the field of Technology across India for the progress of the Nation. His dream is to make India a developed Country by 2047, coinciding with the 100th year of independence’, said Shashi Shekar Vempati, Chairperson, Apex Committee for S&T Communication, DST, Government of India; Co-founder, DeepTech for Bharat Foundation and Former Chief Executive Officer, Prasar Bharati, while inaugurating the year long Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru.


Further he added – ‘NMIT, which was established in the year 2001, has completed 24 years of its existence and stepping into 25th year. A dream planted 24 years back, to nurture innovators., to cultivate problem solvers and to build bedrock of technological progress, today stands as a mighty flourishing tree, being one of the most reputed engineering colleges of the country’. 


Guest of the Honor was Dr. K.G. Suresh, Director, India Habitat Centre and President of Global Media Education Council. In his speech he said, ‘It is the need of the hour to look at Indian Knowledge System. The role of the Indian Knowledge System in modern education is not about replacing contemporary curricula, but about enrichment, synthesis and critical integration. It offers a depth of understanding, particularly in areas of holistic well-being, ethics and inter-disciplinary thought that can make modern education more relevant, purpose driven and aligned with the demands of globally interconnected society. It is a matter of pleasure to note that Nitte has established special units of Indian Knowledge System in all its colleges to produce graduates who are not only scientifically proficient but also ethically grounded’.


Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte Deemed to be University presided over the function. NMIT also felicitated the employees who had served for more than 20 years in the institute. In the beginning, Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT welcomed the gathering. At the end, Rohit Punja, Administrator, Nitte Education Trust proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. M.S. Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor, Nitte Deemed to be University; Dr. Gopal Mugerya, Vice President (Technical); Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Vice President, Bengaluru Campus, members of teaching and non-teaching fraternities were present on the occasion.
