Udupi: Deepesh Deepak Shenoy, a Grade X student of T A Pai English Medium High School, a unit of The Academy of General Education, Manipal, has been honored with the State-Level Hoysala Shourya Award for his presence of mind and courageous action. The award was presented by the Department of Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka.
He received the honor during the ICDS Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Bangalore Palace Grounds, in the presence of Sri Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister, and Smt. Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Minister for Women and Child Development, on Friday, 28 November 2025, along with several distinguished guests.
The Hoysala Shourya Award is one of the highest recognitions given to children in Karnataka for bravery and exceptional presence of mind.
Deepesh’s achievement marks a milestone for The Academy of General Education and T A Pai EMHS, as he becomes the first student in the institution’s history to receive this State-Level honor. He is also the only awardee selected from all districts of Karnataka, except Shimoga, for the year 2025–26.
The school management, Headmistress Smt Vinoda Shetty (+91 94816 13116), staff, PTA, alumni association and students expressed deep pride in Deepesh’s achievement, also congratulated him warmly and wished him continued success.
Founded in 1978 by Padmashree awardee Dr. T. M. A. Pai, the school is soon approaching its Golden Jubilee. The management stated in its official note that the prestigious honor received by its proud student, Deepesh Deepak Shenoy, has added a special significance to the institution’s upcoming Golden Jubilee celebrations.
