Bengaluru: A two-day National Science Conference titled “BIOSPHERE 2026: Science for a Sustainable Planet” will be held on February 25 and 26, 2026, in Bengaluru. The conference is being jointly organised by B.M.S. College for Women, Autonomous, Basavanagudi, and Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University, and will be conducted in hybrid mode.
The inaugural session is scheduled for February 25 at 9.00 a.m. at the B.M. Sreenivasaiah Memorial Auditorium, B.M.S. College of Architecture, Basavanagudi.
The Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University, Prof. Ramesh B., will inaugurate the conference as the Chief Guest. The keynote address will be delivered by Padma Shri awardee A. S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This will be followed by an expert lecture by Dr. S. Krishna Prasad from the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, Bengaluru.
The conference aims to deliberate on pressing global challenges including climate change, biodiversity loss and depletion of natural resources. Scientists, academicians, students, policymakers, environmentalists and industry professionals from across the country are expected to participate and engage in discussions on interdisciplinary and sustainable scientific solutions.
The event is being held under the patronage of Dr. B. S. Ragini Narayan, Donor Trustee and Member Secretary of the B.M.S. Educational Trust and Chairperson of B.M.S. College for Women.
According to the organisers, the conference seeks to promote scientific awareness and collaborative research while strengthening the role of science in building a sustainable future.
