Surathkal: The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, celebrated International Women’s Day on March 9 & 10, 2026, under the theme “Empower, Innovate, Lead”. Organized by the Women Welfare Cell, the event highlighted the achievements and leadership of women across diverse sectors.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Neetika Ahuja (Volvo Group), Dr. Shruthi Acharya (MCODS, Manipal), Ms. Parimala Murthy (Director, AHEAD), Ms. Rekha Kudligi (Former Scientist & Technologist, actress), Ms. Smitha Rao (Founder, OjasQuest), and Ms. Vidya Jayaraman (Founder, StudyMatix Learning Pvt Ltd). Among them, Dr. Neetika Ahuja, Ms. Rekha Kudligi, and Ms. Vidya Jayaraman are proud alumnae of NITK.
Through talks and discussions, the speakers shared insights on women led innovation, entrepreneurship, workplace inclusion, and leadership. They emphasized resilience, integrity, and the importance of women in decision making roles to drive productivity, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The two day programme concluded with inspiring discussions that celebrated women’s leadership and innovation.
