Mangaluru, March 27: Srinivas University will host its 8th Annual Convocation on March 28, 2026, at its Mukka campus in Surathkal, marking a major academic milestone with a series of events spanning four days.
The convocation ceremony will be held in two sessions. The morning session, beginning at 10:00 AM, will feature Karnataka Bank Managing Director and CEO Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat as the chief guest. The afternoon session at 3:00 PM will be attended by Ganti Venkat Kiran, Chairman and Director (Production and Projects – Additional Charge) and Director (Finance) of KIOCL Limited.
A total of 2,769 students, including 626 postgraduates and 2,023 undergraduates, will be awarded degrees during the convocation. The University will honour 236 rank holders, while 48 students will receive the prestigious Chancellor’s Gold Medal. In addition, one Doctor of Science (D.Sc.), one Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.), and 118 Ph.D. degrees will be conferred.
The University will also confer an honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) Honoris Causa on T. Satish U. Pai, Executive Chairman of Manipal Media Network Limited, in recognition of his contributions to society.
The Graduation Day of the Srinivas Group of Colleges will be held on March 29 at 10:00 AM. Aravinda Holla, Solution Architect at Tata Consultancy Services, will be the chief guest. A total of 1,058 students will receive their certificates.
The Students’ Talent Day will be organised on March 30 at 9:30 AM at the university campus, providing a platform for students to showcase their talents.
The Founder’s Day and College Day celebrations are scheduled for March 31 at 10:00 AM. S. Shanthi, Deputy Chairperson of the New Mangalore Port Authority, will be the chief guest and deliver the Founder’s Day address. All programmes will be presided over by A. Srinivas Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University and President of the A. Shama Rao Foundation.
The University will pay tribute to its former Chancellor, Dr. C. A. A. Raghavendra Rao, acknowledging his role in laying the foundation for the institution’s growth.
Members of the Board of Governors, including A. Vijayalakshmi R. Rao, A. Mitra S. Rao, and Padmini Kumar, along with senior university officials such as Vice Chancellor Satyanarayan Reddy, Registrar Anil Kumar, and other registrars, will be present on the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, achievers from various fields will be felicitated. The A. Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Award – 2026 has been conferred on Vedavathi B., Vice Principal of Government High School, Kadaba, and Rajesh Kadri, Principal and Administrator of Sri Ramakrishnashrama, Konchady, for their contributions to education in Dakshina Kannada.
Around 200 faculty members will also be honoured for achievements in research, patents, international presentations, and academic excellence. University rank holders will be awarded gold medals.
Established in 1988 with just seven students, Srinivas University has grown into a major educational hub with over 12,000 students and around 5,000 faculty and staff, offering programmes across healthcare, engineering, management, aviation, and social sciences.
