Mangaluru, April 14: Mr. Sanjith Naik, Executive Director of Mahabaleshwar Promoters and Builders, has lodged a formal complaint alleging trespass, illegal encroachment, and criminal intimidation against four individuals.
The accused have been identified as Mr. Sudheer Shetty, Mr. Suresh Shetty of Shaktinagar, Mr. Jayarama Shetty (Bengaluru), and Mr. Giridhar Shetty of Sagar Constructions.
According to the complaint, the incident came to light on April 12, 2026, during a routine inspection of company-owned properties bearing survey numbers 157-1P and 270-1BP. It was found that the land had been unlawfully encroached upon. A portion of the compound wall on the north-eastern boundary had reportedly been deliberately demolished. In addition, unauthorized excavation and construction activities were observed, including the erection of a partial structure on the eastern side of the property.
The situation escalated on April 13, 2026. At around 9:00 AM, when company workers and supervisors arrived to carry out repair work on the compound wall, Mr. Suresh Shetty allegedly obstructed access to the site by parking his vehicle across the entrance.
When Mr. Naik reached the spot at approximately 10:00 AM, he was allegedly subjected to verbal abuse, threats, and intimidation by the accused. The complaint further states that one of the individuals rolled a laterite stone towards him, which struck his right leg, allegedly in an attempt to cause injury.
Mr. Naik has urged authorities to initiate strict legal action against the accused for trespass, destruction of property, criminal intimidation, and unauthorized construction.
Based on the complaint, the Vamanjoor Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 329(3), 324(4), 351, and 353(5) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as amended in 2023. Further investigation is underway.
