SURATHKAL: Two undergraduate students from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, have been awarded the prestigious OP Jindal Engineering & Management Scholarship (OPJEMS) for the 2025–26 academic year.
Mr. Likith M and Ms. Anushka Mishra secured their places among the top 100 scholars selected from a highly competitive national pool of over 1,500 nominees representing India’s premier institutions, including the IITs, NITs, and IIMs. Each recipient will receive a cash prize of ₹80,000 along with access to exclusive professional networks.
A Rigorous National Selection
Instituted by the OP Jindal Group, the merit-based scholarship evaluates students across engineering and management disciplines for academic excellence, leadership potential, entrepreneurial thinking, and community commitment.
At NITK Surathkal, nominations are drawn from the top three rank holders across all four years of undergraduate study in the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, and Metallurgical Engineering departments. Shortlisted candidates underwent a multi-stage evaluation process that included:
A comprehensive aptitude assessment
An evaluation of original business proposals
Personal interviews with senior executives from the OP Jindal Group
Networking and Mentorship Benefits
Beyond the monetary award, the scholarship inducts both students into the nationwide OPJEMS Scholars Network. This platform provides the recipients with direct mentorship from industry experts, engagement opportunities with the OP Jindal Group's corporate leadership, and access to innovation platforms aimed at developing future industry leaders.
