Grand Sadhu Sanga 2025 program held at Udupi Dham with Participation of 1,300 Devotees from across the world
Udupi, Karnataka: A grand spiritual congregation, Sadhu Sanga 2025, was successfully conducted at Udupi Dham under the guidance of His Holiness Srila Subhag Swami Maharaja, drawing around 1,300 devotees from across India and several parts of the world. The annual gathering was held with the blessings and support of Shri Krishna Matha, Udupi, reinforcing the timeless Vaishnava heritage of the sacred town.
Sadhu Sanga is a yearly spiritual retreat envisioned by Srila Subhag Swami Maharaja to immerse devotees in deep devotional practices through association with saints (sādhu-saṅga), congregational chanting, scriptural discussions, and sacred pilgrimages. This year’s venue, Udupi Dham — the birthplace of Sri Madhvacharya and a prominent center of Vaishnavism, added exceptional spiritual significance to the event.
Grand Welcome and Historic Public Participation
One of the highlights of Sadhu Sanga 2025 was the grand ceremonial welcome of Srila Subhag Swami Maharaja, attended by eminent dignitaries including His Holiness Subramanya Matha Swamiji and Sri Pawan Kalyan, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Their presence reflected the growing recognition of spiritual and cultural gatherings as vital pillars of societal harmony. Devotees also actively participated in the Rathotsava (Chariot Festival) of Lord Krishna, offering vibrant sankirtana (congregational chanting) that filled the streets of Udupi with devotional fervour, drawing appreciation from locals and pilgrims alike.
Week-Long Spiritual Activities
Throughout the week, devotees engaged in Harinaam Sankirtan, parikrama, temple darshan at Pajaka Kshetra, visits to sacred sites such as Parashurama and Balarama temples, and spiritually uplifting kirtans, including programs at Malpe Beach. The schedule also included seminars, discourses, and guest lectures based on Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita, emphasizing devotion, humility, and service.
Smaran Utsava and Vyasa Puja Celebrations
On 11th and 12th Dec, the gathering reached its spiritual peak with the Smaran Utsava Mahotsava of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON. Senior sannyasis and disciples of Srila Prabhupada shared personal remembrances and philosophical insights, glorifying his monumental contribution in spreading Krishna consciousness worldwide. The program concluded with the Vyasa Puja celebration of Srila Subhag Swami Maharaja, marking his 86th Vyasa Puja, with His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji (Puthige Matha) gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, he offered heartfelt glorification of Srila Prabhupada and urged devotees to propagate the teachings of Lord Krishna globally, beyond regional boundaries. Several senior ISKCON leaders and saints, including His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami, His Holiness Haladhara Maharaja, His Holiness Sukadeva Maharaja, and His Grace Basu Ghosh Das, also graced the event, adding depth and inspiration to the proceedings.
A Celebration of Devotion and Unity
All six days of Sadhu Sanga 2025 were marked by devotional harmony, cultural richness, and spiritual joy, culminating in grand prasadam distribution and loving exchanges among devotees. Participants described the experience as deeply transformative, embodying the spirit of the Srimad-Bhagavatam verse: “In the association of pure devotees, discussions of the Supreme Lord become pleasing to the heart and ear, leading one progressively toward pure devotion.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.25.25)
Sadhu Sanga 2025 at Udupi Dham stood as a powerful testament to the unifying strength of spiritual culture and the living legacy of the Vaishnava tradition.
