Mangaluru March 17: Dr. Radhakrishna Nair, Green Hero of India has been chosen for the prestigious State Level Rotary Annual “Vandana Award - 2026” in recognition of his invaluable contributions, in the field of Green Afforestation in India.
Keralam State, Kasaragod Dist., based Dr. Radhakrishna Nair is pioneering environmentalist who has transformed thousands of acres of barren landscape into innovative Japanese method of Miyawaki forest across 12 Indian states to combat pollution and restore biodiversity.
The award is jointly instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City, which will be conferred on Mr. R.K. Nair in appreciation of his exemplary achievements in the field of Green Afforestation Service, and Environment protection. The award comprises of a citation, plaque and memento.
Mr. Shivananda Tagaduru, President of Karnataka Working Journalists Association will grace the occasion as Chief Guest and will felicitate the Awardee in a function to be held on Saturday, 21.03.2026 at 07.30 pm at Hotel Sea View, Mangaluru.
President of Rotary Club of Mangalore Central Rtn. Bhaskar Rai Katta will preside over the function. Rtn PHF Prof. Dr. Chinnagiri Gowda, Assistant Governor, and Mysore city based Rtr. Rtn. Prajwal, District Rotaract Representative will be the guests of honour on this occasion.
